Wow, what a fabulous weekend of showing! It was hot and steamy but we survived and prospered!
We started our weekend with Dressage on Saturday – a new thing for us – and it was a great show. Tara, our new Dressage Chair, ran a fantastic and smooth running show with former chair Suzie Cook’s guidance! A hard job very well done! And many thanks to judge Merri-Lyn Griffin.
Our thanks to our dressage girls and trainers who attended those both new and returning. Fantastic to see you all back smiling and ready to start the new season!
Hats off to the Galloways girls – Susan, Ellen, Heather, and Michele – many, many thanks to them for their support and volunteering their time to scribe, work the office, man the end gate and run. We can’t run it with out you all!
Then on to Sunday, the start of the Open Show season… what a great day! It was wonderful to see all the smiling faces braving the hot weather, and loving their horses, their rides and the show! Welcome back to everyone and welcome to those who are new! Lots of new faces in both rings! And, we introduced the Ranch Horse division in the Performance Ring. It was small but very successful, and I can’t wait for next month!
Many thanks to judges Dee Thomas in the Hunter Ring, and Cheryl Schembri in the Performance Ring. Thanks to announcers Devyn and Penny, and our office girls Denice and Renee. Also a big thanks to the Board members who came and helped out!
Joe Watt, our fantastic grill master, fired up his grill despite having his propane tank stolen the night before and served lunch to us all. Love you Joe and Justin!
And it would not have been an Open Show without Spectrum Saddle Shop. Ellie and crew came well stocked as usual with all the last minute things you might need, and so much more. Even making a run to the store to get supplies for an injured pony!
